Metodika poskytuje doporučení pro správnou praxi dlouhodobého uchovávání předmětů kulturní povahy v paměťových institucích. Předkládá logickou osnovu zohledňující důležité aspekty související s budovami, jejich vnitřním prostředím, bezpečnostními kritérii a možnými riziky, spojenými se způsoby užívání předmětů kulturního dědictví. Metodika si klade za cíl též ozřejmit možnosti vyhodnocování vhodnosti stavebních objektů pro dlouhodobé ukládání předmětů kulturní povahy i ze strany jejich majitelů či provozovatelů tak, aby bylo možné predikovat jejich vliv na uložené fondy a udržitelnost provozu.

Museums as Memory Places and "Ostalgy: Reflexions of Socialism in Czechoslovakia and in GDR

The diploma thesis deals with the image of socialism and everyday life in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the German Democratic Republic in museums thematically focused on the past regime. The aim of the research, which was based on the method of content analysis of two museum exhibitions (the Museum of Communism in Prague and the DDR Museum in Berlin were analysed), was to compare what image of socialism and everyday life under the socialist dictatorship museums create and what differences can be found. Attention was directed to exhibitions devoted to everyday life, which were examined, among other things, in terms of the reflection of ostalgie within the museum exhibition. The resulting comparison showed a different view of the era in the GDR and the Czechoslovakia within museum exhibitions, and confirmed the hypothesis that in the German case the ostalgie phenomenon would be manifested more prominently. While in the Berlin museum the focus is mainly on the everyday life of the citizens, which is portrayed here in a positive light and which in some thematic modules evokes almost ostalgic echoes, in the Prague museum the past regime is perceived more as a time of repression, as evidenced by the critical stand of the authors of the exhibition towards the omnipresent propaganda, which is...
Diaries of Josef Volf as a Probe into the Czechoslovak Librarianship

Resource basis for this work will be thee editorially still unprocessed diary parts of librarian, historian and teacher Josef Volf (1878 - 1937) - from the years 1925, 1933 and 1935. Thematically, the work will build on previous bachelor thesis Library of the National Museum in the first half of the 20th century through the eyes of Josef Volf. Now, however, will dela with personalities Josef Volf from the perspective of his teaching at Charles University, and especially at the State Library School. In this connection, will focus on the establishment and functioning of the educational institutions and the general process for creating a library legislation at the beginning of the first Czechoslovak Republic. Volfův diary should help reveal the specific difficulties of implementation of the Law on public libraries, discussions among experts in an informal level and the impact on the field of librarianship and library development and organization after its introduction. In addition, work will reflect the daily work issues, events, insights and finally Joseph Volf relationships with coworkers and acquaintances that are reflected in the records. Museum societies in central-eastern Bohemia and their fates in the 19th and 20th century

This diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of regional museums in the second half of the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century in the area of central-eastern Bohemia. The thesis is divided into three main chapters, first of which offers the overview of the establishment and development of the regional museums. The following one analyses the laws of association and statutes of the particular societies. The last chapter introduces the most important milestones in the history of four museum societies which are: Museum society of Chrudim, Museum of Hlinsko County, Archaeological society Vocel and Archaeological and museum society Včela Čáslavská. Based on the primary sources analysis and comparative method, the author of the thesis tried to focus on the common and different moments in the history and activities of the museum societies mentioned above.
